I promise I've got projects in the works, but we get a really bad inversion here in Utah that settles into the valley in the winters sometimes and makes sunlight virtually non-existent, so it's been difficult to do any picture-taking lately, or even find motivation for that matter. I love Utah, but if you've ever experienced an extended period of our inversion, it's enough to make you want to pack it all up and leave. Well...almost. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know we finally got sun yesterday and with it came motivation and productivity.
In any case, I'll have a "real" project later this week, but I couldn't go through Superbowl week without a little shout out to my men the 49ers. I grew up in a house that bleeds red and gold, back to the Joe Montana and Steve Young days (probably before, but that's how far I remember). And while I'm admittedly more of a college football watcher than the NFL these days, my dad and little brother are beside themselves with excitement over this year's Superbowl. In fact, my dad loves them SO much, he spent his anniversary last year at the playoffs, by himself (step-mom was working, no he didn't ditch her on their anniversary). Anyone who knows my dad, knows this, even blurry picture, exudes TRUE JOY!
Sadly, they lost the next game after this. So we're all pretty darn excited that they made it to this year's big game, and my love for the 49ers has only deepened this year after the mutual support between my SF Giants and the 49ers, despite Alex Smith catching a little heat for it. Even sweeter is the fact that my dad is a Dodgers fan, so he has to watch his team support his enemy : - ) Anyway, enough with the gushing. I thought I'd whip up a couple of printables for your Super Bowl party, if your party happens to be 49ers-friendly. Sorry Ravens fans, I couldn't go against the family team, and don't get me started on Ray Lewis--or shall I say, the media's glorification of him? (there is a little place in my heart for Utah boy Paul Kreuger).
If your husband is anything like mine, he'll probably cringe at wanting to go all themey with a football party, but I'm one of those girls who genuinely loves football and pretty parties, so why shouldn't I get to combine them? And for you ladies who think every minute of watching football is sheer torture, well you should be able to at least get a little crafty and cute with your party if you're going to sit and suffer through it. Right? End soapbox.
I'll try to make it back later this week and show you how I used mine, but I've created two prints, which are printable up to 11x14 {maybe even 16x20--if you order at Costco, it will give you a resolution warning if that's too large} and some pennants that you can string together. (One of the pennants is blank so you can embellish at your leisure). I tried to at least make them somewhat vintage and not overtly girly (okay, except for maybe the heart).
Enjoy. Links are at the end.
Printables are for personal use & MFL followers only, so please take the time to follow via your method of choice (located in the sidebar).
